I have ordered a second hand banjolin. What strings should I get? I am a complete amateur when it comes to all things mandolin-related

I think most people would consider a banjolin to be a mandolin neck on a banjo body (i.e., 8 strings). If such an instrument had 4 strings, I think most people (at least in the U.S.) would call it a tenor banjo (usually tuned CGDA). Players of Irish music often string tenor banjos like a 4 string octave mandolin (GDAE)
