Howdy!

From Picking Dick on 4/1/2017 6:50:59 PM

Well, we seem to be the only ones who are interested in Mando-Banjos. I also play Irish Tenor banjo, 5 string, and numerous other instruments.

I play folk music and a lot of Irish music.  What do you like to play?

Seems like I lost my password, and just found it. I am interested in mando banjos from the historical point of view, and have not yet learned to play one. I am still learning the banjo, and am in the process of restoring three banjo mandolins, one of them a Dayton with an aluminum head. I'm planning on making a 9 string banjo mandolin, or it might be a mando banjo, not sure, that takes after the one that Bradbury built, located in the MET. I'll make it the scale length of a 5 string banjo, either with an 11" or 12" pot, tuned like a banjo to G. I have the neck roughed out, a pot made, and am having hardware made now for the pot.

Hi, i didn't think anyone posted on these groups just like other forums that I belong to. I'm still plunkin' away at my MB. I put lighter strings on mine, but it didn't help much. It's strings were very tight. I'm improving but very slowly mostly because of my old memory. I play clawhammer and Irish Tenor banjos too. I'm pretty new to the MB.
Nice talkin' with ya. Dick
