C'mon in!

From Gerry Cassidy on 1/29/2011 9:41:48 AM

Hi! I started this group for those of us that enjoy ALL of the mandolin family whether it be as players, listeners, or those wanting to take a look and see if these instruments are something that may be of interest. We all have to start somewhere, right? :-)

The Octave Mandolin in the picture is one I had made for me a couple years ago by a really great guy up in Canada, Darrell Pura. It's my flat top seisiun special weapon!

Hi Jim,

Well, the looong story is: Although I was born and bred in SoCal, US, My Mom is from Sask. Just south of Regina in the Beinfait/Estevan area. My Dad is from Calgary. Both were first generation Canadian as my Grandfolks were from Ireland. Anyway, that is why when I saw a friends Pura OM and found out Darrell was in Saskatoon I gave him a ring and what you see in the pic is the end result. I have build pictures for it that I will post here soon.

Hi Jim, I posted photos of my Pura build and linked them in the same way you did with your photos. Only thing is, it looks as though you can only have 10 photos at a time. I will delete out some of my Pura photos.

Hi Susi, post a pic of your Gypsy. Walt's shop is here, in Scottsdale. Although, he is moving. He builds a very nice instrument!
