Gender: Male
Age: 35
My Instruments:
Firstly Mandolin & Banjo-Mandolin (A VEGA Whyte Laydie 1909!!). Also Autoharp, Bongos, Doumbek, all sorts of various percussion, Kalimba, Pennywhistle, Xun, Harmonica, Jaw Harp, Larynx, and other stuff that makes noise.
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Its a long list, so to summarize: I"m especially fond of bands that emphasize creativity and seek to take music where its never been before - avant garde if you will (I don't like that phrase, it sounds pretentious). First and foremost however I appreciate good musicianship (as does everyone I suppose). I dig everyting from classical to Hip-hop to dance to jazz (but honestly my CD collection is mostly folk and "indie" and - you know, hipster stuff). as long as I find it pleasing to the ears and the intellect I"m a fan.

It baffles me how many good bands are out there that could be even better with a mandolin (or anything for that matter aside from the same 'ol four mainstays). My goal in life is to introduce to the contemporary music scene the world of sounds that they're stubbornly missing out on
