what am i doing with a mandolin??!!

     What did I just do:  sold my great resonator banjo and bought a 20's Vega Cylinder back mandolin?  And I can't yet play the mandolin, but have listened to my inner voices that suddenly got thrilled at being able to make higher pitched sounds.

     This, i said, is crazy as I sing bass!  but the body / mind insisted!

     Here goes.
