Hi! It’s exciting to be posting here for the first time.
About two weeks ago, I was given a Mandolin as a gift from a friend. Since then I have been trying to identify the model and production date of the instrument. My best guess after doing research says it’s a 1947 Gibson A - 50.
The only identifying Mark is in pencil, and can be seen through the F hole on the bass side, written right on the wood.
It reads: 4G6650
Can anyone add any information that might help identify this mandolin?
Thanks for any help!
You might check on mandolincafe and see if anyone on that site knows about your mandolin. Go here: mandolincafe.com/
