Phaser

From The Offshore Accounts on 5/23/2011 6:06:40 AM

I've been hooking up my mando to my phaser pedal (and with a little delay). Set the phase a little longer and it sounds great with a "choppy" rhythm.

With the highs of the mandolin and its open D and G and A strings, playing something in D or G with this effect sounds awesome.

Give it a shot!

Been trying different guitar pedals with my electric mandos. Some sound better than others. Gives new meaning to high metal.

Yeah, I don't think the distortions go well with mando, but a little delay, phase, flange, and/or tremolo can go a long way to add body, especially if you're playing with a rock/pop band.
