Expecting my first mandolin soon...can't wait! I've been playing fiddle for a short time, and decided to pick up mandolin as well. I've got some work ahead of me, but I'm really happy there's a lot of advice here on MHO.

I've only been taking lessons on mandolin for 4 months, but having played fiddle for three years, it is mostly a matter of learning technique. Let me know if I can offer any suggestions. Cheers
	Rissa says: 5/16/2013 12:17:05 PM Thanks! It looks like I'm on my own for mandolin right now, as I have two fiddle instructors and really can't afford to add a mandolin teacher. But once the summer wraps up, I might be able to change up lessons and add a mando lesson in place of a fiddle one. We shall see. I've noticed throughout the MHO things are kind of quiet. Mandolin Cafe is a bit more active, but I like the format of the Hangout. So I keep hopping between the two sites trying to figure things out. Not really much I can do until my mandolin actually arrives. But I do have a question...do you use a case humidifier, and if so what kind? I will need one for my mandolin case, but am afraid of leaks and water damage to my new mando. Thanks!
