Professional Bio: http://wysu.org/full_view.php?recnum=379 Music Bio: In 2007 (at age 47) I started playing the guitar again after a 26 year hiatus. Although never really very good, I very much enjoyed playing both acoustic and electric guitar, with my focus on blues and classic rock (Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Frank Zappa). I play mostly from tabs and by ear (though not very well). In March of 2010, I decided that I wanted to also take-up mandolin, so I purchased an inexpensive Kentucky starter (a KM-172 oval hole - a pretty nice mandolin too, for the price). I immediately fell in love with the mandolin, and haven’t played any of my guitars since I got a mandolin. Since then I’ve added a couple custom build mandolins from Howard Morris (an A5 & an A4) and have an Orpheus 2-Point mandolin on order from Jason Harshbarger of Highland Strings. I'm an enthusiastic novice with lots to learn. I'm a work in progress. I'm thrilled to find such an exciting and fun challenge at this point in my life. Update...In 2012 I started playing the GDAE tenor guitar and I absolutely love it. It's my new passion!
