I started singing in the church choir when I was 10 and soon began to do solos also. I began to teach myself to play guitar when I was 11 because I didn't want to sing with the piano. I earned a BA in music performance from Western Kentucky University-classical guitar, voice and mandolin. While I was an exchange student at the University of Hull in England I took lessons in Celtic mandolin. The music I play now is classical guitar, Celtic mandolin and Progressive Rock arrangements of hymns on which I use all of my instruments.
