Whats wrong with our Morgan Monroe Mandolin?

Hi Folks,Our electric Mandolin starts to cut out about halfway into a set,and we cant get inside it,to the pick-up.Its an intermittent problem,we are putting it down to the heat from the players wrist affecting the pick-up.Any Idea's?
